Prep Cook Dishwasher Position

The Leelanau School is seeking two part-time Prep Cook/Dishwashers for weekdays and weekends year-round. The school operates a healthy and sustainable kitchen which includes composting, recycling, use of school greenhouse, and minimizing waste. Applicants would work as part of a team toward those goals. Applicants can expect a pleasant work environment and won’t be tucked away in the back of a kitchen, as the school dining hall has a semi-open kitchen and open dish window which allow for daily interactions with students and other staff.

Shifts generally range from 8am-2pm or 4pm to 7:30 pm, Monday through Friday; and 11-6:30/7 on weekends with some flexibility in the amount of hours. Duties would include running and maintaining the dishwasher, some hand washing, dining hall and kitchen clean up, and helping to prep meals (chopping, setting up the salad bar, cracking eggs, etc).

Hourly rate will be based on level of experience. Meals also included during shifts.
