Many students with ADHD struggle to thrive in the standardized model of schooling practiced in their local districts. In these cases, love of learning can be displaced with frustration and apathy. True genius is left untapped.

At Leelanau we get it. Learning is different here. It is active, interactive, and hands-on. Students can move, explore, inquire, and experience. This is how we engage the active and energetic minds of our students - especially those with ADHD.

By giving to this fund, you are helping students attend a school where they can thrive, rediscover joy in learning, and liberate their capacity. So many ADHD students are looking for such a home. Help us make it possible for them.  

With such a large, active and proud alumni community, it is not uncommon for prospective students to be referred to us by an alumni family member or friend. These families come to us aware of the magic of Leelanau, and a passion to make Leelanau possible for their child. Helping to make Leelanau accessible to these families pays benefits not only to the student in need, but also empowers alumni advocacy.

Operating for 90 years in the same community has established Leelanau as a local leader in education.  Unfortunately, the median income of our local economy puts Leelanau out of reach for many local students who would love to attend, either as boarders or commuting day students. Increasing local enrollment would also foster local stewardship and expand educational opportunities for all students. Help us serve these local families.

Leelanau naturally draws great interest from families across the state of Michigan, especially in the urban populated regions of southern Michigan. These families tend to have familiarity with the region and the history of the school, as many have summered in the area. Please help these families obtain their dreams of a Leelanau education for their deserving child.  

Chicago area families have a long tradition traveling to Leelanau county and attending the Leelanau School. We are supported by a large alumni base in the Chicagoland area. Maintaining our reputation in the Midwest’s largest city requires us to increase of outreach and service to Chicagoland students. Please help us make Leelanau an affordable option for these families.
