Part-Time Chef

If you are looking to work in a fun and progressive kitchen (without the late nights!) then this is the job for you. 

The Leelanau School is an independent boarding and day school in Glen Arbor, Michigan, serving students from 9th through 12th grade. We are seeking a year-round part-time (20 hours a week) chef to join our food service team. The school operates a healthy and sustainable kitchen which includes supporting local food producers, composting, recycling, use of school greenhouse, and minimizing waste. Applicants would work as part of a team toward those goals. Applicants can expect a pleasant work environment and won’t be tucked away in the back of a kitchen, as the school dining hall has a semi-open kitchen and open serving line which allow for daily interactions with students and other staff.

Shifts generally range from 6am-2pm or 2pm-8pm, Monday through Friday; and 7am-6:30pm on weekends with some flexibility in the days worked and/or amount of hours worked each day.

Hourly rate will be based on level of experience.
