Leelanau is not your typical boarding and day prep school. We offer students in grades 9-12 an educational experience where integrated learning support, individualized attention, small classes, and a commitment to whole-person wellness are at the center of what we do.
Students discover and develop their strengths as both students and citizens with the guidance of engaged faculty committed to cultivating a school where students know and embrace themselves as learners - no matter how they learn.
New Head of School Message
It was with great awe and enthusiasm that I began as the new Head of School in July 2018.
For 89 years, Leelanau has pursued and protected a profound model of teaching and learning. The tenants of “learning by doing”, the synergy of intellectual, social and emotional development, and the importance of personal relationships in support of learning are not new ideas. Such has been the way of Leelanau since its founding.
